The Barry Group Race & Taste Festival will be held at Cork Racecourse Mallow on Friday evening May 10th & Saturday May 11th 2019.
This event is a unique, weekend opportunity showcasing and celebrating Corks fantastic food, arts & culture scene.
Two days of foodie heaven, combined with thrilling horse racing, live music and entertainment for all. There will be a host of interactive demonstrations by chefs such as Rory O’Connell, Martin Shanahan and Lily Higgins and masterclasses in wine tasting to highlight a few, whilst the vast array of food stalls from leading producers will ensure there is something there for every visitor.
The ethos of the event is to intertwine the county’s incredible food scene with the nation’s love of horse racing.
It will be a flat evening card on Friday 10th May. This fixture will mark the official opening of the new 7f track, officially known as The Matchbook Straight Seven, at the racecourse. A historic event and one not to be missed. Ladies this is the evening to come racing, with a stunning prize up for grabs from Fota Island Resort as they sponsor The Fota Island Resort Most Stylish Lady Event. The evening will be rounded off by a night of summer music thanks to Corks finest The Frank & Walters. Gates open at 3:30pm, first race on Friday evening is 5:30pm, the Most Stylish Lady Event will be announced around 7:20pm approximately.
National Hunt Racing returns on Saturday 11th May, with a thrilling seven race card sure to excite. First race is 1:50pm, with gates opening at 11:50am.
